DConf 2013

I just got back from the D Conference at Facebook headquarters. I am convinced now more than ever that the D programming language is the “way to go” :-). D has that rare combination of readability, ease of use, and raw power that is the software developer’s Holy Grail. I’ll be stepping up my teaching of it at UVU starting Fall 2013. Check it out.

Still Here!

I decided to redo my Fresh Sources website. Well, actually, something else decided for me--my website got hacked and stopped working. So here is a new look. All the old articles are there as well as some more recent ones. I’ll be adding more as time goes on.

I’m quite entrenched in my career as a university professor. I spent 2008-2010 as Faculty Senate President, but still managed to get a few publications out. It’s good to be back teaching.

I have time to do corporate training in the summers, and most anytime if it’s just a day or two. I give training on C++ (including C++11), Python, and D.

I’m getting on board with the D Programming Language. It’s awesome! Thanks Walter and Andrei for a Thing of Beauty. I’ll be giving a talk on D at the Rocky Mountain Regional meeting of the Consortium for Computing Science in Colleges in Fort Collins, Colorado in October.
